Bio

Ruth Westmoreland Davis – July 3, 2018 Ruth Westmoreland Davis went to be with the Lord on July 3rd, 2018 at the young age of 86. Ruth was born in Oklahoma City to Charlie Paul and Virgie Mae Westmoreland. She married her handsome airman Joel Ray Davis, on October 17, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas. To all who knew her, Ruth leaves a legacy of loving and serving the Lord unapologetically. She devoted much of her time to serving in the church as a pianist and musician as well as a realtor for 30 years in the Amarillo area. Ruth loved studying the Word of God, music, quilting, spending time with family and grandbabies, ice cream, playing card games and sunshine. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Joel and 3 children, Debbie (David) Badeen of Rogers, AR; David (Neela) Davis of Owasso, OK; Penny (John) Glover of Amarillo, TX; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Wieneke, Ashley Anderson, Jacob Davis, Seth Davis, Hannah Davis, Chelsea Passarelli, Blake Glover; and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters. Ruth will be remembered as a bright shining light in the various communities and churches she served in. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Trinity Fellowship Church West Auditorium. Interment to follow in Llano Cemetery, 2900 S. Hayes, Amarillo, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount. When Ruth saw the Face of Jesus she heard the words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
