Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent August 1985 Ray E. "Blackie" Rezac, 71, of ...died Friday, Aug. 9, at an Omaha hospital. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Robert Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be...at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mr. Rezac was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Brainard to Joseph and Sophia Maly Rezac. He grew up in Brainard, then moved to Grand Island where he attended Grand Island Business College. He married Hazel Hyatt in 1938. She died in February of 1941. He married Angeline Hydo on Aug. 17, 1943 in grand Island. He was employed at the Cornhusker Army ammunotion Depot as a crane operator on construction, and also as a grounds supervisor at the Army Ammunition Depot. He retired in 1976. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 378 and the Platt-Duetsche Society. Survivors include his wife, Angeline; four sons, Gary and Dan, of Grand Island, Ron of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dick of Omaha; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Connie) Boltz of Grand Island, Mrs. Len (Pat) Fila of Omaha; 10 grandchildren, 8 brothers, Stanley of Valparaiso, Joe and Adrian of Wahoo, Bill of Omaha, John, Elmer and Cel of Brainard and Eugene of Denton; three sisters, Mrs. John (Marie) Rejda and Mrs. John (Adeline) Bouc, both of Valparaiso, and Mrs. Ted (Evelyn) Courfal of Brainard. He was preceded in death by a brother.
