Bio
Daniel P. Knox, 82, of Taylor passed away, Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Bartlett. Daniel was born February 22, 1930, in Taylor, to Willella and Raymond Knox. He worked for Texas Power & Light for 38 ½ years. Following his retirement from Texas Power & Light, he worked for the Taylor City Cemetery for over 10 years and also for Ed's Place. Daniel was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Taylor. He also served in the Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and four sisters. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Violet Grace Johle Knox; children, Brenda Echols and her husband, Thomas, Sr., Patrick Knox and his wife, Regina, and Durand Paul Knox and his wife, Tessa; grandchildren, Thomas, Jr., James, Robert, Paula, Tucker, Taylar, Hunter, and Haley; eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, December 7, 2012, from 6 TO 8 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Knox, Brian Johle, Dennis Johle, Vernon Johle, Larry Kieschnick, and Thomas Rohlack. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Memorials can be made in Daniels's name to Trinity Lutheran Church or Southern Care Hospice in Waco, Texas.
