Dillon J. O'Brien, 70, of Marble, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 4, 1988, in Marble. He had been a school guidance counselor for 37 years in Bovey School District No. 316. He was a 40-year member of Grace English Lutheran Church, a member of Minnesota Federation of Teachers, Greenway Senior Citizens' Club, and American Legion Post of Marble. He had been active with the Boy Scouts of America-Headwater Council. He received the Boy Scout Eagle Award and scout leader Silver Beaver Award. Surviving are his wife, Donna; two daughters, Janice Clements of Long Lake, Minn., and Nancy Siebert of Fort Lupton, Colo.; two sons, Paul of Bovey and Larry of Grand Rapids; two brothers, Clement of Cohasset and Gene of Broken Bow, Neb.; a sister, Bernadette Wagner of Grand Rapids; and six grandchildren. Services were Nov. 7. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine. (obituary from the Eastern Itascan, Nashwauk, Minn. dated 10 November 1988.)
