Bio

W.O. “Tutter” Brinlee W.O. “Tutter” Brinlee, 84, of Lake Charles died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2008, in his residence. Mr. Brinlee was born in Caney, Okla., and lived in Lake Charles since 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving aboard the USS Bon Hom Richard in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Brinlee retired from the city of Lake Charles as supervisor of Waste Water and Sewage after 23 1 /2 years of service. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Brinlee was an avid fisherman and hunter. His passion in life was spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing cards and barbecuing with family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Ann Anderson Brinlee of Lake Charles; two daughters and their spouses, Sheila Jenise Schafer and Art of Lake Charles and Zelia Denise Schill and Gary of Spring, Texas; one son and his wife, Donny Lynn Brinlee and Julie of Owings, Md.; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Joshua, and Megan Schafer, Gregory, Nicole, and Ashley Schill, Vandy Troy Brinlee, Mechelle Brinlee White and husband Yancey, and Robert Lamar Brinlee; eight greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alabama Brinlee, and five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Revs. Ken Arnold and Ron Sherer will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
