Bio
Arthur Elton O'Connor was born November 4, 1940 to Arthur Eddie and Edna Irene O'Connor in Longville, Louisiana. He departed this life May 16, 2018 at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 12 days. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. On August 3, 1962 Arthur Elton O'Connor and JoNell McLemore were united in marriage. From this union were born three sons, Larry, Gary & Mark. Art was an aviation mechanic and retired from American Airlines as an inspector. He enjoyed airplanes and aviation but his real joy in life came when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved studying the bible, going to church every Sunday as well as attending revivals wherever he could. He also enjoyed spending time with his sons. He was known as a compassionate man who loved people and his Lord. He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, JoNell O'Connor of the Bristow home; three sons, Larry O'Connor of Colleyville, Texas, Gary O'Connor of Silver Spring, Maryland and Mark O'Connor of Colleyville, Texas; one brother, Lamar O'Connor of Corsicana, Texas. His service information is as follows, viewing will be Sunday, May 20th from 2:00-4:00 at Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home; the funeral will be held Monday, May 21st at 11:00AM at the Olive First Baptist Church with lunch to follow at 12:15. The family would like to invite all who wish to stay to have lunch with them. The burial is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22nd at 2:30 at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
