Bio
A celebration of the life of Sandra Gay Hays, 79, of Idalou will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow in the Idalou Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday at Sanders Funeral Home. Please celebrate the life of Sandra by visiting www.sandersfuneralhome.com. Sandra was born November 19, 1938 in Childress, TX to Fay Isom and Ollie Faye Johnson. She graduated from Idalou High School in 1957 and from Wayland Baptist College with Honors. Sandra taught 3rd and 4th grade students several years. She was an active member of the Primitive Baptist Church for over sixty years. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Marie Jackson and brother, George Holton Johnson. Loved ones include husband, Duane Hays; daughter, Jennifer Jones White; son Kent Terrel Jones; son Paul Lawrence Jones; step-sons, Tracy and David Hays; sisters, Linda Faye Denton; sister-in-law, Jamie Johnson; grandchildren, Nick Gary; Colton, Connor, Kasey, Jackson, Kenny, Kennadea and Emma Jones; Taylor, Ryan, Caleb, Colin and Erin Hays; Rachel Amezquita; Shannon Warren. Sandra was a loving wife and mother; she was known as Granna and Nanna to her grandchildren and was very involved in their school and sporting events. She will be deeply missed.
