Bio
Edward A. Ganoung Jr., 81, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilderville Cemetery, with the Rev. Gregory Moys officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. Ganoung was born May 15, 1920, in Vancouver, Wash. In 1928, his family moved to Grants Pass, where he graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1940. On June 4, 1943, he married Marjorie Morfeld, who survives. He worked in the timber industry from 1937 to 1979, when he was forced to quit due to eye problems. At one point, he was employed by Briecount Logging. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, hiking to lakes and in the mountains, telling stories, and his family, dogs and cats. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Donald Ganoung of Grants Pass; a daughter, Barbara Crouse of Grants Pass; two grandsons and a great-grandson. A daughter, Karen Henderson, died in 1995.
