ORD — James Alan “Jimmy” Bruha, 47, of rural Ord was taken from us too soon on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The Revs. John Kakkuzhiyil and Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in the National Bohemian Cemetery west of Ord. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. James was raised on a farm west of Ord by Edward O. and Marlion Bruha. In 1992, after Christmas Eve mass, James proposed to Michelle Dilsaver, the love of his life, in the cab of his ’90, blue Chevy pickup. The couple was united in marriage on Nov. 27, 1993, in Ord. They built the foundation of their future together on a farm 12 miles west of Ord. Together, they expanded their farm and ranch with cattle, crops and two lovely children. His strong work ethic and faith that was instilled by his parents was visible in everything he did. He raised his children, Ashley and Tye, to work hard for the things they wanted and he always tried to make their dreams come true. He was very proud of his daughter, Ashley, and all of her accomplishments with her college education and professional career at UNK. James always looked forward to and enjoyed their chats about life and Ashley’s future plans. His son, Tye, was his little “BTO” (Big Time Operator) and sidekick who has now grown into a 15-year-old farmer and rancher. Tye followed in his dad’s footsteps by excelling in FFA and in academics. They will always cherish their memories with their father and the love of the land that he established. James is survived by his wife, Michelle, and his children, Ashley and Tye; his mother, Marlion Bruha; brothers, Steve Bruha, Martin Bruha (Jolene), and Anthony Bruha (Cathy); sisters, Sandy Fischer (Darrell), Joann Laible (Tim), Janet Setlik (Dave), Ann Hajek (Ed) and Mary Wagner; parents-in-law, Craig and Joani Hansen; and a brother-in-law, Scott Dilsaver. Uncle Jimmy will hold a special place in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward O. Bruha; a sister, Carol Bruha; an infant brother, Paul Bruha; and a niece, Jessica Gutierrez.
