Arlene G. Simonetti was born in Sutherland, Nebraska on August 12, 1925 to Charles and Jennie (White) McNeel. She lived most of her first 19 years in North Platte, Nebraska where her parents ran a hotel. She lived in town but also moved to a cattle ranch that was originally granted to the family in the Homestead Act on what was then called Rural Route # 3 in North Platte. After graduating High School she worked in a bank in North Platte until she attended her first year of college at Hastings, Nebraska. It was during her first year of college that she met and married a young cadet from the U.S. Army Air Corps. named Felix W. Simonetti on April 25, 1945. She moved to Texas briefly and then on to Maspeth, New York where her husband's parents lived. They then moved to Levittown, New York where they had a family of 2 sons and a daughter. She work for many years at Fred the Furriers. She moved from Levittown in 1994 after her husband passed and moved to Virginia where she lived until her death of cancer on June 1, 2004.
