Arlene M. Koziol, 81, died Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Brookestone Acres in Columbus. Mass of Christian burial is being held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. A 7 p.m. vigil is being held Tuesday, April 10 at the church. Visitation is being held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, and continues from 9:30 a.m. through service time, all at the church. Burial is being held at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus. Arlene M. Koziol was born May 3, 1936 in Tarnov, Nebraska to Adolph J. and Irene (Sliva) Kudron. She attended St. Michael's Elementary in Tarnov and graduated from St. Francis High School in Humphrey. She received her nurses training at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha. On July 2, 1960 Arlene was united in marriage to Bennie J. Koziol at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. She worked at St. Marys and the Columbus Community Hospital for 47 years in the Obstetrical Department. Arlene very much enjoyed her work as a nurse. In 1997 she received the Caring Kind Award from the Nebraska Association of Hospital and Health Systems. Arlene was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she served as an EME. Arlene was also a member of Perpetual Adoration, St. Theresa Sodality and Retired Nurses Group. She is survived by her brother, Adolph (Janet) Kudron of Columbus, brother Paul (Margaret) Kudron of Omaha, brother Mark (Diane) Kudron of Columbus, brother Philip (Alice) Kudron of Columbus, sister Alice Kobza of David City, sister Kathy Kudron of Omaha, sister Bonnie Kudron of Omaha, sister Janet (Mark) Morris of Omaha, sister-in-law Virginia Kudron of Columbus, sister-in-law Joyce Kudron of Tarnov, sister-in-law: Kimiko Koziol of San Diego, sister-in-law: Evelyn Bosak of Genoa, and many nieces, nephews and retired nurses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Irene Kudron, husband Bennie J. Koziol in 2008, infant brother Duane Kudron, brother Jerry Kudron, brother Gervin Kudron, nephew Eric Kudron, brother-in-law Jim Kobza, brother-in-law Albin Koziol, brother-in-law Alfred Koziol and sister-in-law Marcella Phillips.
