Graveside services for Wilma Louise Evans of the Greenville Community will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, in the Greenville Cemetery. Officiating will be her son, Gavin Evans. Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta, OK Born in Giles, TX on January 10, 1937, Mrs. Evans was the daughter of Thomas “G.C.” Meredith and Audrey Lorraine Hunt Meredith. She passed away Sunday, March 18, in Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City at the age of 81. A graduate of Greenville High School, she and Donnie Wayne Evans were married in Ardmore, OK on July 2, 1955. Due to her husband’s naval career, the family lived throughout the world in such places as Hawaii, Guam, Bishop, TX, and Midway Island, before returning to the Greenville Community to make their home in the early 1970’s. A homemaker, Louise was the center of the family. She loved spending time with her family as well as gardening and bird watching. Louise was a devout Christian and member of the Eastman Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, Donnie on June 18, 2001; parents; sister, Myrna Birch; brother, Tommy Meredith; and daughter, Ginger Lynn Evans. She is survived by her son, Gavin Evans and wife Melody of Choctaw, OK; three daughters, Susan Knox and husband Phillip of Greenville, Cathy Redding and husband Dale of the Shady Dale Community, and Karen Schoonover and husband Kelvin of Frederick, OK; brother, Thomas Smith of Washington; sister, Carolyn Hallmark of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Berta Meredith of Greenville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren on the way; and numerous other relatives and friends. Serving as honorary bearers are Josh Knox, Kelsy Schoonover, Tony Evans, Jackson Penny, Jacob Knox, and Ian Redding.
