Bio
Hylasue Yeager Walker, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, at Promise Land Assisted Living, in Lubbock, Texas. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Amarillo, with Pastor Nick Garner and Joan Gaines. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Hylasue was born to Robert L. and Mary Lucile Yeager on March 20, 1930 in Amarillo, Texas. She was the oldest of three children. Hylasue graduated from Amarillo High School in 1948. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1952. Hylasue married Basil Walker Jr. in Amarillo on August 2, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 62 years; her two brothers, Ben Allen Yeager and Robert Yeager, and grandson, David Walker. Survivors include three children, Susan Walker Davis and husband Alan of Lubbock; William Walker and wife Linda of Albuquerque; and Bob Walker and wife Michelle of College Station. Hylasue had nine grandchildren, Malia Scott; Lacy Eads and husband, Robert; Ansley Key and husband, Alonzo; Alicia Klimek and husband Jeff; Melissa Belluomini and husband Marshall; Bobby Walker and wife Pam; Chase Walker and wife Stasia; Mallory Reyes and husband, Scott; and Caitlin Walker. Hylasue had 13 great grandchildren, with two more expected in August. She had two great, great grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Patsy Walker of Amarillo, Patricia Yeager of McKinney, and Wynell Yeager of Schoolcraft, Michigan. In addition, she had many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Hylasue was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Junior League of Amarillo, Kappa Kappa Gamma at University of Texas, and PEO in Amarillo. Hylasue loved and valued spending time with her family and extended family. She had 30 wonderful years of memories at the family cabin in Angel Fire. The family extends their sincere gratitude to special caregivers at Promise Land Assisted Living in Lubbock, Texas, where she lived the last 10 months of her life; including, Teresa Scoggins, Gayle, LaTonya, and Brittany.
