Edgar Minzenmayer, 87, of Ballinger passed away Wednesday evening, April 4, 2007 at his home surrounded by family. Edgar was born on February 17, 1920 in Beyersville, Texas to Henry A. and Pauline Bredemeyer Minzenmayer. He served with the US Army during WW II and because he was one of four brothers already serving, was honorably discharged after a short period and returned home to help his mother. He married Minnie Kuhl in Wuthrich Hill, Texas, and the young couple moved to Runnels County in 1947. He was a farmer all his life and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Winters. Mr. Minzenmayer was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Minnie of Ballinger, and by his children, Dennis Minzenmayer and wife, Janet, of Rowena; Shirley Hambright and husband, Rodney, of Abilene; Michael Minzenmayer and wife, Nancy, of Ballinger; and Brian Minzenmayer and wife, Shamone, of San Angelo. Also surviving are six grandsons, John Minzenmayer, Paul Minzenmayer and wife, Monica, Jason Hambright, Justin Minzenmayer and wife, Stephanie, Joshua Minzenmayer, and Kevin Minzenmayer and one granddaughter, Kelsey Minzenmayer. A sister-in-law, Hattie Minzenmayer, of Winters, also survives. There will be a prayer service held at 4:00 PM Thursday at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation following. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday April 6, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Winters, with Pastor Jim Hanson officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Allen Halfmann, Hugh Campbell, Jerry Holle, Clay Earnshaw, Luther Minzenmayer, Henry Minzenmayer, George Pruser, and Lee Verbillion. Burial will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are with Lange Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Winters or to a favorite charity.
