Bio

Velvie Mae Berry ,89, of Amherst, died March 6, 2018 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Velvie married James E. Berry on March 22, 1949 in Amherst, Texas. She is survived by four sons, Darrell Berry of Manitou Springs, Colorado, Bob Berry of Cashion, Oklahoma, James B. Berry of Victoria, Texas and Dale Berry of Nocona, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters. Velvie is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Floyd and Ora Mae VanDoern and two sisters. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Amherst, Texas. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Amherst. Arrangements under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
