PFC US ARMY WWII Humphrey, Harlston April 15, 1986 ….Kirby Forest retiree NEWTON — Funeral for Harlston W. Humphrey, 71, of Newton will be at 1 p.m. today at Causey's E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial in Olds Cemetery near Jasper. He died Tuesday at Beaumont Medical Surgical Hospital after an illness. A native of Hemphill, he lived in the Weaver Community 33 years, was a retired timber marker from Kirby Forest Industry and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Verdie Humphrey of Newton; a son, David Fuller of Jasper; five daughters, Angie Moity and Kerry Brumley, both of Beaumont, Ivy Patillo of Lumberton, Juanelle Carpenter of Shreveport, La., and Tiffany Cain of Newton; three brothers, Taft Humphrey of Bleakwood, Haskell Humphrey of Kirbyville and Dalton Humphrey of Albuquerque, N.M.; four sisters, Sally Good of Port Arthur, Thyla Hicks of San Jacinto, Eunice Davidson of Newton and Beula Bea Spears of Carrier, Miss.; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
