RICHARD (DICK) SCHMALE Richard Schmale was born in 1894 near Grand Island,Neb. In 1910 he immigrated to Canada with his parentsand lived on the family farm near Luseland. In 1915 he married Katherine Busch, better known as Katie. He farmed in the Luseland area for a number of years. During this time four children were born He moved to the Denzil area,where Dick's wife Katie, died shortly after the birth of Kathryn in April. In 1926 Dick returned to Luseland where he continued farming and driving the Luseview school van. The children were cared for by various relatives until 1927 when he married Anna Klamn, a widow with two children. From this union seven daughters were born Some years after Dick's second marriage he ceased to farm and took over the livery and dray in Luseland. Sometime during the war Dick moved to Kerrobert where he lived until his death in June, 1947. Kathryn died in Richfield,Utah, in 1978.
