Norbert Reznicek, 85, of Clarkson, Nebraska, formerly of Fremont, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Dunklau Gardens Nursing Home in Fremont, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 5, at 10:30 AM at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson with Fr. Rod Kneifl celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Rosary, and continue on Monday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. Interment, with military honors, will be in the Clarkson Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Norbert Reznicek was born on July 7, 1932, in Scribner, Nebraska, to Adolph and Emma (Semerad) Reznicek. He was raised in North Bend, Nebraska, where he graduated from North Bend High School in 1950. Norbert entered the United States Army on November 19, 1952, and was honorably discharged on November 18, 1954. After returning home, Norbert was united in marriage to Roberta Novotny on May 9, 1955, at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson, Nebraska. The couple settled in Fremont, Nebraska, where they raising their six children. Norbert worked for Hormel Foods for over 30 years and after retiring from there, he and Roberta managed Nye Avenue Apartments in Fremont for 12 years before retiring to a small farm in Clarkson in 1995. Norbert enjoyed many activities during his life; including building air-boats, fishing, and a passion for curing, smoking, and barbecuing all types of meat, and enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren with his homemade ice cream making skills. Norbert is survived by: Daughter: Patricia "Patti" (Roger) Beaudoin of Grand Junction, CO Son: Robert (partner – David Ogden) Reznicek of Decater, GA Son: Michael (partner – Doug Werts) Reznicek of Berwick, ME Son: Larry (Shawn) Reznicek of Gillette, WY Son: Jon (Kathy) Reznicek of Fredericksburg, VA Daughter: Becky (Tom) Horak of Kenosha, WI 9 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren Brother-in-law – Vernon Mihulka of Norfolk, NE Brother: Kenny (Phyllis) Reznicek of Fountain, CO Sister: Loretta (Dwayne) Muff of Omaha, NE Numerous nieces and nephews Norbert was preceded in death by: Parents: Adolph & Emma Reznicek Wife: Roberta Reznicek Sister: Evelyn Mihulka Brother: David Reznicek
