Jerrie Annette Yeager San Angelo On Feb. 14, 2018, Jerrie Annette Yeager, a lifelong educator and animal lover, passed away at the age of 78. A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date. Born in San Angelo, Jerrie was the middle of three children. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.T. and Frances Whittle; and sister Betty Hejl. She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Yeager and Jenny Yeager; brother John Whittle and his wife, Susan Whittle; Betty's husband Stanley Hejl; and the father of her children, Toby Yeager. Jerrie received a bachelors degree from Southwest Texas University in English, and her Masters in Education and Counseling from Tarleton State University. She started her career teaching English and also taught Special Education, eventually becoming a school counselor. Jerrie retired from teaching at 65. Jerrie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mentor and friend. She was an active member of the German Texas Heritage Society, and the Daughters of the Confederacy, and was passionate about all things Texas. As a history buff, she had extensive knowledge of Texas history and enjoyed investigating family genealogy. Published in GoSanAngelo on Feb. 20, 2018
