Leona Shelton Robinson ROBINSON, LEONA SHELTON, 69, died Monday, April 2, 2007. Funeral:1 p.m. Wednesday, Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville. Visitation: 2 -8p.m. Tuesday and 9a.m.- 1p.m. Wednesday. Published in The Courier-Journal on 4/3/2007. Leona Shelton Robinson, 69, of New Albany Funeral services for Leona Shelton Robinson, 69, of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Evans Landing Cemetery. She was born to David and Celia Belle Shelton in Alton on Jan. 31, 1938, and peacefully went home to her heavenly father on Monday, April 2, 2007. She met the love of her life, Simon H. Robinson in 1953 and was married on May 22, 1954. She was the bookkeeper for several years for her husband's business, Robinson Sanitation. She was a member of Embury United Methodist Church and attended Faith and Love Church. Survivors include a son, Simon E. Robinson and wife, Bonnie, New Albany; two daughters, Viola Richardson and husband, Ray, Waddy, Ky. and Becky Gilley and husband, Rob, New Albany; two brothers, Charles Shelton and wife, Betty, New Albany and Elmer Shelton and wife, Max, Sellersburg; two sisters, Anna Mae Stultz and husband, Joe, New Albany and Annis Hall and husband, Robert, New Albany; a sister-in-law, Ethel Castile and husband, Bernard, New Albany; seven grandchildren, Christina Burgess, Emily Keith, Elizabeth Gilley, Daniel Gilley, Kimberly Wyatt, Ava Robinson and Ellie Robinson and several friends; and one great-grandchild, Michele Burgess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon H. Robinson; her parents, David and Celia Belle Shelton; a brother, James Shelton; and a sister, Relma Dixon. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 3 and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
