PETER STRAHAN , farmer; Sec. 14; P. O. Elm Grove; was born in Clayton township, Feb. 27, 1837. He owns eighty acres of land, valued at $2,500; married Miss Ellen Lauderback. She was born in this county and township, May 23, 1844. They have three children: Cora, Andrew Jackson, and Margaret. They are members of the United Brethren church. La Prairie, Ill., June 8--Peter Strahan, an old and respected citizen of this place , died Thursday night. For several years, he had been a sufferer from paralysis and at last death came to him as a relief from his suffering. Mr. Strahan was born near Clayton on February 27, 1837. On November 10,1870, he was married to Miss Ellen Louderback and to this union, five children were born, three girls and two boys. In 1875 Mr. Strahan and his family moved onto the farm where he died. Besides the bereaved wife and children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, survive the deceased, as well as many other and more distant relatives. The deceased was a member of the U.
