BURWELL — Larry Leroy Johnson, 80, of Burwell died Feb. 17, 2018, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. Larry was born Jan. 4, 1938, in Sargent to Raymond and Gladys (Gruber) Johnson. On Feb. 18, 1961, Larry was united in married to Karen Hoppes in Burwell. Larry is survived by a daughter, BamBe and Marc Currie of Kearney; a son, Bud and Brandi (Plugge) Johnson of Burwell; a sister, Karen (Johnson) and Jim O’Neill of Sargent; a brother, Danny Johnson of Texas; sister-in-law Kathy (Hoppes) and Rodney Barthel of Oklahoma; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Karen. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church in Burwell. Burial in Cottonwood Cemetery. The Revs. Marty Robbins and J.B. Sikes will officiate. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of the arrangements.
