John D. OSBORN October 15, 1935 - February 7, 2018 BIOGRAPHY John Dern Osborn Jr., age 82, passed away on February 7, 2018 in Beaver, UT. JD, as he was known to his family, friends and associates was born October 15, 1935 in Milford, UT. Married his High School sweetheart Sept 19,1953 later solemnized in the St. George Temple May 2,1959. He was dedicated to his family, church, community and country. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in leadership and clerical positions. He worked for the US Forest Service for 28 years on the Fish Lake National Forest and served in the Utah National Guard (Service Battery 222nd FA Beaver, UT) for 28 years. He was a long-time member of the Beaver Lions Club and served with his wife Glenna on the Beaver County Travel Council. His singing talent touched the lives of numerous Beaver County residents, including singing at 300 funerals and over 200 weddings. He is survived by his wife Glenna Morgan Osborn; children Bonnie Williams (Les), Blair Osborn (Lisa), DyAnn Moss (Kenton), Dale Osborn (Melanie), Brother Mel Osborn (Connie), 15 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by John Dern Osborn, father, Aleen Grimshaw Osborn, mother, Kent Morgan, father-in-law, Claudia V. Morgan, mother-in-law, Robert D. Osborn, brother, Iris Griffiths Osborn, sister-in-law, Julia Ann Poulson Osborn, sister-in-law, and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 in the Beaver 1st/2nd Ward LDS Church. Viewing Sunday, February 11, 2018 6-8 p.m. at the Beaver Southern Utah Mortuary and prior to services Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the 1st/2nd Ward Church. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, UT, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
