Dorothy “Dot” Stephens of DeQuincy, Louisiana, was born on February 25, 1926 in Singer, Louisiana and passed away on February 5, 2018 at the age of 91. She is survived by her children, Jessie E. Cook, Jr. and wife, Carol of LaPorte, Indiana, Judy Landry of DeQuincy, Louisiana, Ann Wilson and husband, Dickie of Mont Juliet, Tennessee, Kathy Midkiff and husband, Mike of DeQuincy, Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Susie Cook; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, R. C. Buxton of Merryville, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband , George Stephens, parents, Alex Buxton and Mary Ashworth Buxton; son, Kenneth “Bubby” Cook, son-in-law Robbie Landry; brothers, A. C. Buxton, L.C. Buxton and Earl Buxton and one sister, Glennie Clark. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 5 - 8:00 P.M. and the funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 beginning at 10:00 A.M. The funeral and visitation will be held at Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana with interment to follow at Good Hope Cemetery, Singer, Louisiana. (Note: Dorothy married 1st to Jesse Everett Cook on September 22, 1943 in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana. That grave has not been located at this time.)
