William Robert (Bob) Pickard, 87, of Granbury, died Saturday, April 13, 2024. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 2:00 pm on April 22, 2024, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Bob's family includes his wife of 34 years, Betty (Hardin) Pickard, daughter, Cynthia O'Mara (Stephen) of Montgomery, Alabama, five grandchildren, Shannon Lescarini (Richard), Paige O'Mara, Dallas O'Mara, Reed O'Mara, and Kayla Pickard, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Barbara Howe, two brothers Bill Pickard (Patricia) and Tom Pickard, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Pickard and mother, Dorothy (Lowe) Hill, son, Robbie Pickard and son, Mitchell Pickard, a brother, David Pickard, sister, Jean Pickard Wharton and sister, Judy Hill Klutts. Bob was born August 12, 1936, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Boles High School in Quinlan, Texas. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 34 years in 1991. He began his career with SWBT as a coin collector at 19 years of age. He travelled all over east Texas collecting coins. Then, he worked in telephone installation and repair, data teletype and retired as a data center manager at Two Bell Plaza in Dallas. His years after retirement were spent continuing to enjoy life. In his last years, he especially enjoyed travelling and dancing to rock n' roll music. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Triple Cross Cowboy Church Benevolence Fund, Granbury.
