Bio
Jean Wharton, 81, passed away on September 14, 2013 surrounded by her loving family in Irving. She was born on April 23, 1932 in Kaufman County to her parents, Eugene and Jack Pickard. Those left to celebrate her life include her daughters, Cynthia Wharton of Plano, Camille Leonard of Plano, and Becky Long and husband Pat of Brady; her son, Michael Wharton and wife Lisa of Martins Mill; her grandchildren, Cody Long, Casey Long and wife Alycia, Kristen Leonard, Whitney Lee and husband Ryan, Garrison Leonard, Emily Wharton, and Jake Long; her great grandchildren, Noah Long, Aceson Long, Everett Long, and Callaway Lee; as well as, numerous cousins, extended family and friends. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wharton; her grandson, Will Long; and her parents, Eugene and Jack Pickard. Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Goggans Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the service. Jean was a member of Church of Christ.
