WWI & MEXICAN REVOLUTION SPECIAL RANGER William Patterson Guynes,Jr, was born May 22, 1889 in Crandall, Kaufman County, Texas, to William Patterson Guynes, Sr, and Martha Ophella "Mattie" Kelly. William was short, medium build, with brown eyes and dark hair. He was msrried to Ruth Norton in about 1916. There were no children listed. William was a farmer. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a SPECIAL RANGER on December 12, 1917 thru January 15, 1919. In June 1917, William was a clerk in a dry goods store in Crandall, Kaufman County. In 1930, he was a "public weigher" in a cotton yard in Kaufman County. William Patterson Guynes died May 31, 1961 in Kaufman County. He was buried in the Crandall Cemetery, Kaufman County, Texas.
