Bio
Sue Smith died on January1, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born in Bonham, Texas, on February 20, 1925, to Jones Reagan London and Roma Estelle Jackson. She was their third of 13 children. She graduated from Bailey High School. On September 5, 1948, Sue married Harlan K. Smith in Alpine, Texas. They moved to Lubbock where she attended Texas Technological College and graduated in 1956 with a degree in Elementary Education. Sue taught elementary school in the Lubbock ISD for 25 years. In their retirement, Sue and Harlan loved spending half of each year in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Harlan, and their son, William Ronald "Ron" Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Kaye Crowe and husband Paul of Texarkana, Texas and Cheryl MacKenzie and husband Sandy of Lubbock. She is also survived by two sisters, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great -great- grandchildren. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Carillon for their loving care of her and Accolade Homecare and Hospice for their support in her final days. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Carillon Foundation, Inc. "I'm Still Here" Program or a favorite charity.
