A graveside service for Dorothy “Dottie” Hilsman, age 87, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Jarratt Cemetery with Randy Allen officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Mrs. Hilsman passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Tyler. Dorothy was born September 7, 1930 in Troup to Elzie and Alvie (Houseworth) Otts. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Hilsman; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Gwendell and James Edward Pledger; brother, Joe Otts; grandson, James Edward Pledger, Jr.; and stepson and son-in-law, David Hilsman. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Little John Paul Pledger, Sr. and wife June of Hull, Shane Pledger and wife Maria of Grandbury, Jeffrey Pledger of Marion, Iowa, and Duncan Hilsman of Louisiana. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Jean Otts of Kansas City, MO; sisters and brothers-in-law, Versie Green of Whitehouse, Betty Jean and Tommy Evans, Sandy and John Grotefend of Titusville, FL; daughter-in-law, Cherie Hilsman of Marrero, LA; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Cindy Rainer. Visitation will begin on Monday, January 22, 2018 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Dottie’s family from 5 to7 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
