Bio
Wayne Ross Thompson, 83, of Versailles, passed away, Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach. He was born August 10, 1934 in Enon, Missouri, a son of Herbert Hadley and Stella (Hardcastle) Thompson. He was a farmer and lived in Missouri most of his life. He served his country in the United States military. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors include four sons, George Ross Thompson and wife Tonia of Fortuna, Missouri, Kenneth Wayne Thompson of Fortuna, Missouri, Jerry Lee Thompson of Stover, Missouri and Larry Don Thompson and wife Tammy of Versailles, Missouri; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Monfort of Eldon, Missouri and Coleen Mitchell of Holden, Missouri; a brother, Glen Thompson of Florida and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Ann Thompson; three brothers, Lloyd Thompson, Carl Thompson and Gail Thompson and a sister, Doris Birdsong. A graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 at Clearview Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday in Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
