Bio

Kenneth W. Loeffler, 81 years, of Fremont, NE died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Nye Legacy in Fremont. Kenneth was born January 28, 1936 in Burwell, NE to Fred and Harriet (Franks) Loeffler. At a young age he moved to Fremont and attended school at St. Pat's High School in Fremont. He served in the US Army from May 22, 1958 to April 27, 1961. After being discharged from the military he returned to Fremont. Kenneth married Joan Ladenburger on July 24, 1962 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. He worked at Archer Daniel Midlands (ADM) in Fremont and retired from there January 28, 1998. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, FOE 200 Eagles of Fremont, and Fremont Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. He loved fishing, hunting, the river and having hog roasts. He is survived by his wife, Joan of Fremont; son, Michael (Christine) Loeffler of North Bend; daughter, Terri Chaney of Fremont; sisters, Dorthea Saeger of Oklahoma City, OK, Loraine (Harold) Ebert of Ashland, NE and Patty (Jerry) Herold of Omaha, NE; grandchildren Tony Chaney and Dylan Chaney. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Jane Loeffler and Donald and Phyllis Loeffler; and nephew David Loeffler. Funeral Service will be 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Deacon Joe Uhlik will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 4 PM to 8 PM with family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel. A Rosary Service will start at 7 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be designated to the family for a memorial yet to be determined.
