Bio
Edith Sliva, 88, of Houston, Texas died peacefully on January 1, 2018. Edith was the daughter of Ed and Vera Zapalac. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sliva. They were married for 66 years. She leaves a son, David Sliva of Houston, his spouse, Cheryl; daughter, Carol Sliva of Fresno, California, her spouse Charles Holeson; two grandchildren, Sarah Thompson and her spouse, Nicolas Allard and Christopher Thompson of Los Angeles. Edith enjoyed most being with her family. She and Eugene had been members of Holy Family Catholic Church in Stafford, Texas for over 40 years. Edith is survived by her sister, Irene Hundl of Houston and a number of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters- in- law. Special thanks to the care givers at Brookdale Pearland memory care and Essentials Hospice. Their support helped her deal with the different stages of dementia. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Knesek Funeral Home, www.knesekfuneralhome.com. A rosary and funeral mass with be held at 10 am on January 12, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stafford, Texas. 2:00 pm burial service will be in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Wallis, Texas. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimers Association.
