Bio
Eugene Sliva, 88, of Stafford, Texas, died peacefully on March 18,2015. Eugene was the son of Willie and Tillie (Janicek) Sliva, of Orchard, Texas, who preceded him in death. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Edith (Zapalac) Sliva, son, David Sliva, of Houston, his spouse Cheryl; daughter, Carol Sliva of Fresno, California, her spouse Charles Holeson; two grandchildren, Sarah and Christopher Thompson of Los Angeles, California. Eugene graduated from Orchard High School then moved to Houston, where he went to work for and retired with Houston Lighting & Power Company. His favorite pass-time was spending time with his family, visiting and joking around with his grandchildren, whom he adored. He had been a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Stafford, Texas, for over 40 years. Eugene is also survived by his brother, Willie and sister Tillie (Sliva) Oldag, as well as loving sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Florian, and sister, Mildred (Sliva) Nesvadba.
