Bio
Robert B. Neu, 92, of Toluca, formerly of Minonk, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his residence. His Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Minonk with Franciscan Friars officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. An inurnment will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Minonk at a later date. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church or OSF Hospice. Robert was born on April 11, 1925 in Minonk, a son to John and Margaret Haugens Neu. He married Alice M. Schwiderski on November 29, 1945 in Toluca. Surviving is his wife of 72 years, Alice Neu of Toluca; 3 daughters, Mary Anne (Bob) McNamara of Normal, Jeanne Ruestman of Toluca and Connie (Gene) Craig of Toluca; 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and a sister, Marjorie Fenoglia of Lacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Robert and a sister, Bernice Maccari. Robert was a lifetime farmer in the Minonk and Toluca areas. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
