Sandy Butterfield, 58, of Grand Island died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at CHI Health-Saint Francis after a sudden medical trauma. Sandy continued giving as a Nebraska Organ Recovery Donor. Her wishes were to be cremated. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Martin L. Egging will be the celebrant. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Sandy was born July 29, 1959 in Grand Island, Nebraska to William B. and Leonora M. (Hruby) Jones. Sandy attended Grand Island Central Catholic and graduated in 1978. On September 11, 1981, she married Jodie Butterfield and they lived their entire married life in Grand Island. Sandy did administrative work for National Auto Parts, was a CNA/med aide at the Nebraska Veterans Home, and most recently bartended at Shots Lounge. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She enjoyed NASCAR, Husker Football and loved to bake. Those left to honor her memory include her two daughters, Lyndsay Butterfield and her fiancé, Jorge Corral, of Grand Island and Candice Butterfield of Grand Island; her brothers and their wives, Billy and Tina Jones, Mark and Sherma Jones and Monty and Lillie Jones; and her four grandchildren, Layla, Sofia, JJ, and Carl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jodie Butterfield, and her parents Bill and Leonora Jones.
