From The Ely Times( NV) - Thursday, July 23, 2009: Patricia Ann Christiansen, age 66, passed away on July 14, 2009. Pat was born in Ely on April 7, 1943 to Robert and Dorothy Christiansen. Pat attended White Pine High School and graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science. She taught English, journalism, and physical and special education in Grass Valley, California and in Incline Village, Nevada She was the coach of various sports including volleyball, track and field and cheerleading. Pat later worked for Bell Telephone in Reno claiming it was a job she loved, retiring after 20 years. Pat returned to Ely to take care of her parents where she was active in community affairs such as the Senior Center, Ladies Golf, and Senior Aide. She was an avid golfer, loved fishing, traveling, her pets, playing games, as well as spending quality time with her nieces and nephews. Pat is survived by her mother, Dorothy Christiansen of Ely; three brothers, Jack (Dee) Christiansen of Ely, Robert (Valerie) Christiansen of Las Vegas, and Pete (Nora) Christiansen of Las Vegas; 11 nieces and nephews; and 20 great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Pat's Life is scheduled at the Mountain Vista Chapel on Saturday, July 25th at 10:00 a.m.
