Elaine D. Anstine, 79, of Kearney, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Memorial services will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel in Kearney. Pastor Dean Pofahl will officiate and private family burial will be later at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE. There will be no visitation. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. Elaine was born in the rural Loup City, Nebraska area on December 7, 1937, to Victor and Balbina (Grudzinski) Kosmicki. She grew up helping on the farm and going to country school through the eighth grade. After the family moved to the Litchfield area and bought the local café, Elaine worked there with her sisters. She married Larry Lucas in 1957 and to this union was born 5 sons and 1 daughter. Elaine moved to the Kearney area and married Richard Anstine in 1983. She earned her GED and Dietary Management Degree while working at Mother Hull Nursing Home. She continued to work in the food service industry being employed at Kearney State College, Cambridge Court, and Kearney High School. Upon retirement she continued to live in Kearney. Elaine is survivied by her sons, Joseph (Becky) Lucas and Jerry Lucas all of Kearney, John (Marcy) Lucas and Jim (Benigna) Lucas all of Cozad, Jeff (Lisa) Lucas of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Jackie and Ron Doggett of Central City, NE; step-son, Richard Anstine, Jr. of Eugene, OR; step-daughter, Pamela Anstine of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Maxine (Merlin) Lewis of Kearney and Rita Lewis of Litchfield, NE; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren and other extended family. Elaine was preceded in death by her Parents; husband, Richard; sister, Leona Schuda; brothers, LaVerne Kosmicki and Tom Kosmicki.
