Bio

Douglas Doskocil, 65, of Burlington, died Sunday, November 12, 2017, in a Rosebud Nursing Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Burlington. Rev. John Kelley and Deacon Bill Smetana officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Burlington. Douglas was born in Rosebud, Texas, to the late Alfons John and Elene Beach Doskocil. He lived in the Burlington area all of his life. He graduated from Rosebud-Lott High School in 1971. He worked as a farmer and was co-owner of D&M Grain in Rosebud, Zabcikville, and Rogers. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles E. Doskocil. Survivors include his brother, Thomas Doskocil and wife, Gaile, of Burlington; sisters, Barbara Hoelscher and husband, Leroy, of Westphalia, and Nancy Pechal and husband, Dale, of Ratibor; other relatives and many friends.
