Bio
Col. (Ret) James E. Brannon passed away Monday. Col. Brannon served in the Army for 30 years. He also served as Director of Acquisitions for MICOM and AMCOM for 40 years. He graduated from Mississippi State University and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include children, James Brannon II (Lora), Laura Reese (Dennis), Erin Ruthellen Brannon, Ashleigh Johnson (Brooks), Elizabeth Hein (Nate), and Jefferson Brannon; and grandchildren, Ryan, Ian, Zane, Chase, Katie, Payton, Arlo, Levi, Addison, Brock and Avett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Brannon, parents, Lloyd and Nedra Brannan, and grandson, Jaxon Hamlin. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, June 16 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will follow in the chapel with the Rev. Miriam Smith Klose officiating.
