Bio

Julianna Marie Sydzyik, 102, of Ord entered eternal life on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Park Place Care Center in Grand Island. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Father John Kakkuzhiyil and Father Mark Maresh will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Julianna Marie was born February 16, 1915, at Elyria, Nebraska to Joseph and Veronica (Dubas) Wadas. She was raised east of Ord on the family farm. On January 2, 1940, Julia was united in marriage to Anton F. Sydzyik at Ord, Nebraska. The couple settled on a farm northeast of Ord. They farmed and raised their 10 children. In 1978, they moved into Ord. Mr. Sydzyik passed away in August of 1980. Julia was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Altar Society, Confraternity of Christian Mothers and the VFW Auxiliary. Her greatest inspirations in her life were her 10 children; and all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo, babysitting, baking and gardening. Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Eileen of Ord, Anthony and Mary Beth of Grand Island, Andrew and Sharda of Ord, Lawrence of Cairo, Philip and Cindy of St. Libory and Gary and Cathy of Lincoln; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann Eurek of Omaha, Veronica and Darrell Hultgren of Fremont, Juliana Drawbridge of Ord, and IvaLee and David Hanel of Clarkson; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton; a sister, Adeline Hurt; four brothers, Sylvester, Ben, Emanuel, and Bill Wadas; two sons-in-law, James T. Eurek and Donald Drawbridge; a granddaughter, Lisa Eurek; and a great-grandson, Trevor Eurek.
