Beatrice Daily Sun Beatrice, Nebraska 12 Sep 1992, Sat • Page 6 Norman Brott Waukee, Iowa—Norman Brott, 74, Waukee, Iowa, died Thursday, September 10, 1992, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born May 29, 1918, at rural Plymouth, Nebraska and farmer near Jansen, Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a sergeant in the 34th Tank Battalion, serving the European Theater in northern France, Normandy, and the Rhineland. He received three bronze service stars and one bronze star medal. He then returned to Jansen to farm. He married Mildred Krause on March 28, 1948, at the United Church of Christ, Jansen. He farmed nine years near Jansen, then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska for nine years, where he was a diesel mechanic for Caterpillar. He moved to Waukee, where he again was employed for Caterpillar in Des Moines until retiring in 1981. He was a ember of Trinity Lutheran Church in VanMeter, Iowa. Survivors: wife Mildred Krause Brott of Waukee, Iowa; sons Ronald and wife April of Des Moines, Iowa, Warren of VaMeter, Iowa, and Dennis and wife Barbara of Earlhan, Iowa; daughters Janice Brott of Des Moines, Iowa and Linda Johnston and husband John of Dublin, California; grandchildren Joshua, Joseph, Tyler, Jacob, Travis, and Jessica; sisters Delma Zimmerman of Beatrice, Nebraska, Elnora Smith and husband Arthur of Jansen, Nebraska; brother Eldon and wife Dorothy of Beatrice; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Wilhelmine Grabowski Brott; and a sister, Leona Brott. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 1992, Trinity Lutheran Church, VanMeter, Iowa, Pastor Kenneth Belz. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, September 14, 1992, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beatrice, Nebraska, Pastor Jeffrey Kunze. Burial: Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Family Prayer Service: 1:45 p.m. Monday, fellowship room, St. Paul Lutheran Church. Memorial established with Harman Mortuary in charge. Visitation: Noon until 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon Sunday until 11:30 a.m. Monday at Harman Mortuary and then one hour preceding services at the church. View Memorial
