Graveside services for LaVern Norman, 88, of Montalba will be at Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with Mark Norman, Bubba Norman and Jason Bryant officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home. Mrs. Norman passed away after a long battle with cancer at the home of her son, Mark Norman, surrounded by her family and close friends. She was born in Deanville, Texas to George Spacek and Emma Wolz Spacek. She was a member of Trail to Christ Cowboy Church in Jacksonville and on every Thursday night she could be found at He Rose Cowboy Fellowship and Arena in Montalba. LaVern cherished times spent with family. She loved horses, cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes. She was a breeder of Pug dogs for many years. She also enjoyed home decorating and collecting dolls. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.H. "Bill" Norman in 2000; and a brother Harlen Spacek. LaVern is survived by her children, Sandy Williams (Virgil), Bubba Norman (Holly) and Mark Norman Dee); brother, George Spacek (Marleen); sisters, Doloris Ranton and Anne Chernosky; grandchildren, Jason Bryant (Elizabeth), Joshua Norman, Blake Norman (Jennifer), Kandi Mendoza (Mike), Kelsie Moody (Calab); and great grandchildren, Aston, Hannah, Abigail, Lily, Kendalyn, Klayton and Baby Moody on the way as well as numerous other family and friends.
