Bio

Mrs. Jessie B. Elliott, 52, died at her home, 902 Omar, at 6:33 p. m. Sunday. She had been a resident of Houston for the past 20 years and was a member of the Second Baptist church and was very active in the church work. She was past president of the T. E. L. Sunday school class of the Second Baptist church and at the time of her death was secretary-treasurer of the Industrial Twelve club, Woodland Heights. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Elliott; her mother, Mrs. C. S. Brigance, two [step] daughters, Mrs. F. B. Tucker and Mrs. Eola Williams; four sons, Frank B. Amerine, Weldon F. Amerine and [stepson] Tom H. Elliott , all of Houston, and [stepson] Stephen S. Elliott of Mexico City, Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. G. W. Bowden and Mrs. G. L. Allen (wife of George Leslie Allen ) of Houston, and Mrs. E. D. Schafer of Roselle, N. J.; two brothers, A. F. Brigance of Houston and E. A. Brigance of Detroit, Mich.; and a grandson, Arden Amerine [Weldon Arden Amerine] of Houston ( Burial applications 1937, Image 145). ___________________ Daughter of C S Brigance from Robertson County, Texas and Esther Averyt from Union, Arkansas. She married Clarence Weldon Amerine on 23 Feb 1903 in Norman, Cleveland County, Oklahoma. They were the parents of Frank Brigance Amerine, Weldon Frederick Amerine and Agness Amerine (1908-1910). She married Thomas Elliott circa 1930. Included in this plot is her grandbaby, Infant Amerine and also, Lucy Eades Elliott .
