Joe Donald Keeton of Alleyton, Texas and formerly of Angleton, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Katy, Texas at the age of 72. He was born on August 19, 1945 to Noah Firman and Stella Harrietta (Coffer) Keeton in Freeport, Texas at the old Freeport Hospital. Services for Mr. Joe are scheduled for Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Palms Funeral Home with Dr. Cliff Robertson officiating. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Joe will be laid to rest at Payne Cemetery located on Farm Road 2329 in Athens, Texas on September 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. He was a loving father and Papa. His daughters April and Jami Jo were his entire world. He retired from the Highway Department after 32 years of dedicated service in Angleton, Texas. He loved many things, but lived a simple life. Some of his passion's included hunting and fishing. He was an avid Houston Texans fan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Left to cherish his memory is his faithful companion; his dog, Rambo, his daughters; April Collins (husband, Jay), and Jami Jo Johnson (husband, Justin), his brother, Richard Keeton, sister, Pat Burdick (husband, Jerry), his grandchildren; Ronnie Lee, Robert Lee, Neriah Lee, Nevaeh Lee, Jacob Collins, Diana Lee, Makenzie Johnson, and Mallorie Johnson, his step-children; Jamie, Vicki, Becky, Steve, Connie and Terri, . He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Noah Firman and Stella Harrietta (Coffer) Keeton, his loving wife, Ruth (Bell) Keeton, step-daughter, Lavona Cameron and his grandson, James Robert "Bobby" Magourik.
