Bio
Ila McMillon Wood, age 90, of Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 following a short illness. She was born June 1, 1927 in Cocke County, TN to the late Henry Clay and Martha Williamson McMillon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Wood; an infant brother, Thermond McMillon; five brothers, Kenneth McMillon, Gordon McMillon, Goldman McMillon, Benjamin A. McMillon and Amos McMillon; and two sisters, Martha Enloe and Flo M. Jenkins. Mrs. Wood had worked in retail and was a member of Hollow Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Geraldine Wood and husband Terry G. Dillon of Kernersville; one brother, Joe C. McMillon and wife Doris of Lenoir; and two sisters, Tilda McMillon and Ruth M. Cone and husband Robert, all of Lenoir. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Elder John Jackson. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
