Bio

Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Apolonia Sobczyk, daughters Linda Hillis and Theresa Balwanz as well as his siblings. Survived by wife Virginia, children Michael Sobczyk and Sandra (Larry) Shupe; grandchildren Jeff, Greg and Dan Riley Jr.; Steve and Melissa Balwanz; Paul and Jill Sobczyk; Ryan, Tom and Katy Shupe; great grandchildren Morgan and Keira Riley; Brooke and Allyson Riley; Dan Riley III; Sienna Balwanz; Landon and Bryce Shupe, JoAnne Phelps, Duane Shupe; sister Bernice Golden. He was active with the Omaha Police and Firefighters VFW and was a Captain with the Omaha Fire Department before retiring. VISITATION at St. Mary's Church Thursday August 24 from 5-7pm with a Wake Service at 7pm SERVICE 10 am Friday August 25 at 10am also at St. Mary's.
