Fort Bend Herald, August 22, 2017: Clarence "Red" Foytik, Sr., 92, of Needville, passed away in Houston, Texas on August 21, 2017. He was born December 20, 1924 in Damon, Texas to Jerry Foytik, Sr. and Sophie Matocha Foytik. Clarence served his country during World War II in the Army Air Force and Texas Defense Guard. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. Clarence worked throughout his life until he retired at 78. He held many positions during this time, most notably in the Fairchild Planters Gin, as well as a television/radio repairman and then as an electronics technician for 36 years before he retired. He has been a member of the American Legion Post 271 in Rosenberg, TX for 72 years. Clarence is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Elheart Foytek, Sr., Dominic Foytek, and Jerry Foytik, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years and 10 months, JoAnn Foytik; children, Clarence P. Foytik, Jr. and wife, Julie, David J. Foytik and wife, Rachel, Dale M. Foytik and wife, Deina, Brian T. Foytik, Cheryl A. Johnson and husband, Christopher; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jaecen, Emily, and Rhys Foytik; siblings, Irene Moore, and Franklin Foytik and wife, Barbara; along with many relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017, at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Damon. Interment with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Tributes and words of condolence may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
