In Memoriam KENNON WHITTINGTON October 11, 1937 ~ August 21, 2017 (age 79) Kennon (Buzz) Whittington, age 79 of the Redland Community, passed from this life on Monday, August 21, 2017 at his home. Kennon was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on October 11, 1937, the son of Marvin Whittington and Floy Mathews Whittington. Kennon lived in the county most of his life and graduated from Idabel High School in 1955. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was affiliated with the Redland Methodist Church. Kennon and Clovis Parker Whittington were united in marriage on June 19, 1999. Kennon loved to work in his garden, take care of his cattle, fish and spend time with his family. He was a man everyone looked up to. He could always dole out good wisdom and always saw the good in everyone. His memory will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Kennon was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Floy Whittington; step father, Harvey Parker; brother, Jack Whittington and sister, Sue Dorey. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Clovis Whittington of the home; Children, Marvin Whittington and spouse Trisha of Montgomery, Illinois, Don Whittington of Aurora, Illinois, Ken Whittington of Somonauk, Illinois, Sherian Greer of Aurora, Illinois and Claudine Buzer of Rochelle, Illinois, Theresa Whittington and spouse, Purvin of Chicago, Illinois, Billy Clayton of Idabel, Oklahoma, Debbie Mitchell and spouse Steve of Rockwall, Texas and Brenda Power and spouse Andy of Texarkana, Texas; brothers, Charles Whittington, George Whittington and Tim Parker of Redland; a host of grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends that he loved dearly. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Idabel, Oklahoma with the Bro.
