Bio
Married Mildred Chrismer April 24, 1954 in Castle Rock, Colo. They divorced in September 1982. __________ Bill was born September 13, 1933 in Springfield, Ill. He was the third of eight children born to Nelven and Mildred (McMann) Harris. He passed away on August 12, 2017 at his home in Yuma. Bill will be remembered for being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was known to have a kind and generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a hard-working man who was skilled at driving everything from an army half-track to his 18-wheeler. He could fix anything with a roll of duct tape, some bailing wire and a can of WD-40. He had a great sense of humor. He often could not finish a joke because he'd be laughing so hard he couldn't reach the punchline. Bill was preceded in death by grandson, William Dean (Billy) Pine; son-in-law, John Pine; and siblings, Don, Jim, George and Dorothy. Bill is survived by his wife, Edie; daughters, Debra Pine of Yuma and Shelia Bullard of Enid, Okla.; sons, Wayne (Barbara) Harris of Colorado Springs and Derek (Johnna) Harris of Sterling; stepsons, Ted (Monica) Nelson of Hutchinson, Kan. and Douglas (Alma) Nelson of Buffalo, N.Y.; grandchildren, Ryan (Sera) Bullard of Oklahoma City, Evelynn Harris and Kinsleigh Jerman of Sterling, Shelby (James) Arpin of St. Louis, Mo., and Kaylee (Colton) Busick of Manhattan, Kan.; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, William, and Jacob Bullard of Oklahoma City and Sydney Pine of Pueblo; siblings, Bob, Larry and Melva Harris of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews. Bill will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Buffy. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 9 at 1 p.m., at the Yuma Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Plains, P.O.
