Ainsworth Star Journal Oct 26, 1961 p. 1 Long-Time Business Man Passed Away Final rites are scheduled for 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Congregational church for Ernest A House, long-time business man and civic leader here, who passed away at an Omaha hospital Monday evening. He was 75 years of age. The deceased man is survived by his widow, Wealthea, a sister, Mrs. Florence Remy of Youngtown, Ariz, and several nieces and nephews House had been an autombile dealer here for 42 years, having handled Oldsmobiles since 1919 and adding the Chevrolet dealership in about 1924 He had been one of the early planners and devoted much time to the groundwork on the Ainsworth Irrigation Project and to reclamation work in general in this area. He had been active in several civic and fraternal organizations. Interment will be in the Ainsworth cemetery, Arrangements are under the direction of the Jessen-Wisda Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Gordon Jensen. Draft card lists birth date as 26 July 1887.
